“On TV it only takes a minute”

My eight-year-old son received the Blizzard Maker for a gift. He was ready to jump right in and begin making blizzards but we had to get by way of set up initial and then go to the store for half-and-half.

Broke First Time Using It. . . .

I purchased this for my 8-year old nephew for his birthday, as it was his top-requested gift. What a rip-off! I could deal with the setup, and it in truth did churn tasty ice cream, but it is made of cheap plastic and broke with our firstborn use! As the ice cream begun to harden some, the handle got more difficult to turn and started out to slip off of the mixing paddle. Well, it actually ended up stripping the handle and the connector piece to the handle broke. Since you need to use the same crank handle to “twist” the ice cream out, we were genuinely stuck! I tried to turn it by hand, but that was impossible. We ended up having to scoop it out of the canister. Also, the ice cream cups are fabulously small, not closely as big as they appear on the box. I agree that they must not refer to it as a “Blizzard Maker”, as there is no way to blend the toppings into the ice cream! The only positive think that I have to say when it comes to it is that the ice cream was very good, but unquestionably not $30 good. Do yourself a favor and take your kids to Dairy Queen and spend the $30 on ice cream there. Our Blizzard Maker is going back! As my nephew said, “This is a dud!”

Fun and ice cream tastes good!

This is a very fun action for kids (and adults!). There is a little bit of setup involved but the end result is worth it. Be sure to buy half & half cream to add to the enclosed DQ mix. I’ve purchased feed toys before and a heap of times they do not work very well. This one actually did work very well and who doesn’t like ice cream!!
Overall, we had a lot of fun particularly experimenting with all the toppings to add to the Blizzard when we were done. Very fun toy and great gift idea as well.
