Mini Cuisinart

ReviewThe Cuisinart Mini-Prep feed processor stands 8 inches tall and just over 4 inches wide, but don’t let the size fool you. The base houses a motor so powerful that you need to stabilize it with one hand when using the high setting to whip up a strawberry-banana smoothie for one in less than a minute. The clear plastic prep bowl locks into place with a simple twist, while the blades may be set sharp side up for chopping onions or grating Parmesan cheese, or turned blunt side up for making walnut pesto or whipping up chocolate frosting. The set includes a spatula and a cleaning brush to remove coffee grounds.

For best results, cut ingredients into small, even pieces–about 1/2-inch square or so works well. In general, use the sharp-edge approach for low speed and the blunt side of the blades for high speed. If you need to run the motor for longer than one minute, pause and get started again. The bowl, cover, and blade assemblage may all be run through the dishwasher, but watch your fingers when dissembling the machine, as the blades are exceedingly sharp. –Irene Svete

5VERY POWERFUL AND EASY TO CLEAN
By A
I highly commend the Cuisinart Mini-Prep. I’ve had one for 6 years and it is still running beautifully. For such a little unit it has a astoundingly powerful motor. It may chop or puree vegies, fruits, – even cooked beef, chicken, and fish. When I original purchased it I employed it mainly for chopping onions, garlic, herbs, etc., but then I started out to discover the possibilities. Ofcourse, the portions you are competent to prepare are small, but if you’re alone or have a very little family, it’s a outstanding little machine. Also a breeze to clean (not like the huge Cuisinart units). Only negative is that it is rather noisy, however, for this price it is a terrific value. I must add that I purchased two other mini processors prior to this one (both by Black & Decker) and was exhaustively discontented with them. The motors were not powerful at all and the blades were in a dissimilar position than Cuisinart Mini-Prep. They could not chop more than 1/4 to 1/2 cup of feed at a time or it would not run. Neither unit would puree anything, only coarse chopping was possible. If you’re looking for a good mini processor the Cuisinart Mini-Prep is it!

5A time for each seasoning……
By Southern Review
A time for each seasoning……and a utensil for each purpose. The Cuisinart Mini Prep does not serve well as a essential processor for heavy jobs. That was not it is intended design, or function.

2Very fixed use
By M. Berman
I have had this model for in regards to 2 years and I found it very disappointing. In order for it chop up an onion, for example, you need to hand cut the onion into assorted *very small* pieces — other than as supposed or expected the blades chop a good deal of of the onion and leave other parts unchopped. It’s good for items that are already little –like nuts, but it’s a nusiance for chopping vegetables. Another issue: the plastic lid is of poor quality — the lid has produced a little hole on top and now I have to keep my finger over the top to prevent liquid from spraying out. This mini chopper is a good idea with poor execution. I am astonished these are still being made.
