Saucepan Steamers

ReviewFunctional as well as beautiful, this 3-quart saucepot and 2-quart steamer insert are made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The pot has an aluminum core in it is base to disseminate heat speedily and evenly. The core is exclusively clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pot and the steamer, the pot bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pot without dripping. Because the pot is 4-1/2 inches deep and comes with a tight-fitting, domed lid, it is roomy sufficient to simmer stocks and soups and may also be used for braising veal shanks or for cooking chili on the stovetop or in the oven. (The handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and stay cool on the stovetop.) The pot and steamer are dishwasher-safe and come with a lifetime warranty versus defects. –Fred Brack

5A outstanding saucepot/steamer combo!
By Steven Dennis
This has got to be the deal of the century, and not only that, these pans will last you closely that long! My mother has had a set for 35 years, and I’ve had mine for 5. Nearly indestructible, dishwasher safe, good performers on the stovetop, with stay-cool handles! They even look great after all those years!
Keep in mind that because they are for the most part stainless steel, with an aluminum bottom, Farberware does not heat up rather as fast as, say, hard-anodized aluminum such as Calphalon, which gourmets prefer. Stainless steel is a poor heat conductor, while aluminum is good and copper is the best. On the plus side, you can’t put Calphalon in the dishwasher and Calphalon does not have unfeigned stay-cool handles, like Farberware.
Anyway, how oftentimes do you buy a gift knowing that it will still be around 20, 30, 40 years from now? By the way, if the pot does have a problem, they come with a Lifetime Warranty.

4A fine piece but watch those handles
By J. A. Zaentz
Most of my cookware is Revere so my experience with Farberware is limited. With that in that mind I will have to say that this steamer fits a perfective niche in my collection. I hate hauling out my stock pots for pasta side dishes and my 2qt pots held boiling over. This size is outstanding and the roomy steamer instert will hold a medley of vegetables without a hitch. One problem though, my Revere handles have always stayed cool on my stove. I went to grab this pot and managed to burn both my hands. I have been spoiled by whatsoever Revere does with it is handles so I just have to do not forget to use hot pads. The handles seem very lasting and the pot itself is solid. If the handles stayed cool like my Revere Ware then this would have been a solid five stars.

5Another Great Farberware Product !
By David Lindamood
This is another outstanding Farberware product we purchased to support stock our son’s introductory college apartment. He thought it was a pasta cooker, was a little disappointed (at first), that it was a ‘small’ steamer, what could you perhaps cook in there ? Well, he is in truth cooking/steaming fresh vegatables, and enjoying them. He has fallen in love with steamed potatoes!

The pot is in truth little (3 quart) with in regards to a 4 inch side, so it may also be employed for servings of soup, pasta sause or that little batch of chilli. The steamer pot fits snuggly into the pot, with just the right size holes to concede the steam in, but not the product out. AND the lid fits tightly, permitting for a quick and fast steam cycle.

Overall, a outstanding product, that is being employed much more than in the first place thought that it would be used. Much more than just a vegatable steamer.
