ReviewFunctional as well as beautiful, this 6-quart stockpot is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish and has an aluminum core in it is base that spreads heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pot, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pan without dripping. Because the pan comes with a domed lid that self-bastes foods it may be used for braising on the stovetop or in the oven. (The handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and stay cool on the stovetop.) The pot measures 9-3/4 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep. Perfect pan for stuffed artichokes and beef based gravy!!!

This pan is a family classic in my home! I had to search and search a great deal of a page to find it, and it is half the price I have seen on ‘guarenteed lowest price’ sites.

My family cooks conventional italian meals from gravy making to stuffed artichokes and this size is by far the most mutual pan we ever used.

As for Farberware, I can’t say sufficient good things. If you could tell the 45 year old pots from the new ones in my Moms house, well you would be psychic because no one in the family can.

Even after the bean incident of 83, we still recovered the pan nicely (dont ask, but lets just say dad used power tools)

This is a great little stockpot. As cited earlier it’s a very stable pot. I have a glass cooktop and only very flat bottom pans are usable and this one works very well. I don’t like non-stick pans and stainless are a lifetime investment so this is an splendid pot for an splendid price.

Farberware Classic 6-Quart Stockpot with Lid

Its a very good size utensil.The heavy bottom of the utensil helps it to be stable on electric as well as the gas burners. Also the thickness helps in slow cooking and the bottom retains heat. Ideal for rice recipes. Heating is uniform.
Another good utensil from Farberware in my collection.
